Micro Quest - Busker Patronage - 50

Quest Scouts inspires your to squeeze the most out of life while collecting real-life, physical badges.

During our last Micro Quest, The Busker Life, we watched several short videos about buskers. This objective brings us a little closer in- We're going to support a street performer! It's not about the money you give, but rather the experience.

Objective:

1) Locate a busker.

2) Throw a bit of money into the busker's hat/jar/guitar case/etc.

3) Tell us about the experience below. Had you ever done this before? How did you feel about it? Describe the busker- What were they playing? Where were they?

He shares with us his thought process that led him to find fulfilment as he became a father supporting his family from his passion. Micro Quest - Sound Snap - 50

Quest Scouts inspires your to squeeze the most out of life while collecting real-life, physical badges.

Music is invisible right? Or is it? This micro quest presents two methods (one technical, one colorful) that can be utilized to photograph sound.

Objective:

1) Watch What Does Sound Look Like from NPR and Paint on a Speaker from The Slow Mo Guys.

2) In the comments below, let us know A- What you thought of each video, B- Which video you preferred and C- One thing you learned from either video.

You can actually see sound waves as they travel through the air thanks to a clever photographic trick. tumblr.com/follow/skunkbear skunkbear.tumblr.com Twitter: @cadamole @nprscience Produced by Adam Cole Hands shot by Meg Vogel Schlieren images provided by Mike Hargather (http://infohost.nmt.edu/~mjh/people.html) Amber Kates Bobby Gold J. W. Tang, A. Nicolle and J.
Gav and Dan ruin a perfectly good speaker by pouring paint all over it. But hey, at least it looks pretty in slow motion.

Micro Quest - Roll & Draw - 50

Quest Scouts inspires your to squeeze the most out of life while collecting real-life, physical badges.

Hi Quest Scouts! For this micro quest we'll be letting the odds determine what we draw. So grab a six sided die and get ready to roll and draw!

Objective:

1) Gather your supplies. You'll need paper, drawing supplies of your choice, and a six sided die.

2) Roll the die once for each of the three categories below. Match your die roll to the color, subject, and setting lists. (A, B and C.)

3) Draw what you rolled. For instance, if I rolled a 4 first, a 6 second and a 2 last, I would draw a green monkey in Paris, France.

4) Share a photo of your drawing on Instagram or Twitter with the tag #QuestScouts.

Remember, if you post to a public Instagram or Twitter account your photo will show up on our Scout Board for other Quest Scouts to view and interact with.

6) In the comments below, let us know that you completed the objective, and how you felt about this exercise.
