Kingdom Plantae - Art - 300

Pressed flowers are a form of delayed gratification, but they're worth the wait. They can also be used to embellish a variety of objects and look great framed.

Objective:

Build and use a flower press.

Details:

1) Find a flower press building tutorial that works for you. You can choose to build any style of press, but construction is required to fulfill this objective. Personally, we like this tutorial from Woodlark.

2) Build your flower press.

IMPORTANT: If you currently own a flower press that you previously built (not purchased) you do not need to make a new one. Simply use the press you already have.

3) Gather your flowers. Remember that flowers with bulkier centers will be more difficult to press.

4) Give your press a try! Put your flowers into your press, tighten it up, and wait!

5) Wait a month (some say more, some say less) and open your press. Your flowers should be flat and dry.

7) Take a photo of your pressed flowers and share it in as a post in our Facebook Group. We’d love to see a photo of the press you built as well!
