Bones - Games - 250

Objective:

"Roll the bones" through playing a dice game.

Details:

The precursors to modern day dice were the knucklebones of sheep and other animals, which may be why the phrase “roll the bones” is used when referring to rolling dice. For this objective, you’ll be rolling the bones with a game of your choosing.

1) Identify a dice game you’d like to play.

What do we mean by “dice games”? For this objective we will use Board Game Geek’s definition of dice games, which says “dice games use dice as their sole or principal component. Dice games traditionally focus almost exclusively on dice rolling as a mechanic in games”.

Ideas for identifying a game include:

  • Browsing Board Game Geek

  • Asking a game enthusiast for a recommendation

  • Checking out what your local game store has to offer

  • Checking your personal game shelf for a game

2) Find a copy of your game! If you don’t own the game, you’ll of course need to find a way to play it. Borrow it from a friend, visit your local board game store, or find it online.

3) Grab some friends and play the game you chose!

4) Post a photo that documents your gameplay in our Facebook group.
