Weekly Challenge: “Foraged” Flora
Complete the Bloom 250pt Research Objective by learning about then eating an edible flower.
Objective:
Learn about and eat edible flowers.
Details:
1) Spend 15-30 minutes looking into edible flowers. (This is a RESEARCH objective, after all!)
What type of flowers are edible? How are they prepared and eaten? What restaurants near you serve edible flowers? What farmers markets or grocery stores sell edible flowers?
2) Obtain & eat an edible flower of your choice.
IMPORTANT: We highly recommend you purchase your edible flowers from a professional, so that you can be sure they’re safe to eat. (30 minutes of research does not make you an expert, and you don’t want to accidentally eat something poisonous.)
You can obtain your flowers at a grocery store or farmers market, then prepare and eat it at home. Alternatively, find a restaurant serving flowers on the menu!
3) Take a photo to document your adventure and post it on our Facebook Page as a comment on our post title “Weekly Challenge: ‘Foraged’ Flora.”
