Weekly Challenge: Plastic Picasso

Begin the Mongo Art Objective by creating a found plastic collage.

Details:

1) If you’re a member, check out the Mongo Art Objective. While this Weekly Challenge does not require you to fully complete the the Mongo Art Objective, it will help you get started!

2) Spend some time familiarizing yourself with plastic collages. You can start with this Pinterest Board we’ve created for you.

3) Begin collecting plastic for your collage! This exercise is not intended to be done in one go, but rather over a longer period of time. As you move throughout your life, keep your eyes open to the world around you. Walking through the park and see a bit of discarded plastic? Pick it up! Save the top of your milk jugs instead of throwing them away! After a few weeks of collecting, you will have acquired quite a bit of material to work with.

As in order to do the Mongo Art objective justice you’ll need to take your time, you DO NOT need to complete your art in for this challenge.

4)  Take a photo of the most visually interesting piece of plastic you’ve collected and post it as a comment on our post title “Weekly Challenge- Plastic Picasso.” In your comment, make sure to tell us about the piece of plastic! Where did you get it? What is its original use?
