Weekly Challenge: đź“ť D.I.N.O
Complete one of our Bones literature micro objectives through writing an acrostic poem about a prehistoric animal.
Details:
1) If you’re not familiar with acrostic poems, spend a bit of time familiarizing yourself with them. You can watch this video from Portland Public Libraries, read about acrostics from the Poetry Foundation, or choose another resource to learn from.
2) Head to The Dinosaur Database. Click on the “pick one for me” link to be shown a random prehistoric animal. (If you don’t like the animal you were given initially, feel free to try again.)
3) Write an acrostic poem about your randomly chosen prehistoric animal.
REMEMBER! This is a micro objective, and as such you are not expected to spend more than an hour completing it. (In this instance, 15-30 minutes is likely enough time.) Keep this activity fun and light. Your poem does not need to be perfect. Relax and have fun creating.
4) Share your acrostic poem in a comment on our post titled “Weekly Challenge- 📝 D.I.N.O” in our Facebook group.
5) Don’t forget to record your points! Completing this objective not only earns you a star, but also 50 points towards your Bones quest for completing this literature micro objective.
